Opinions and unwanted suggestions seem to be the new vogue in people’s lives nowadays. I don’t get it, don’t people have their own lives or is it just me who thinks that there are some people who like to interfere in your life as if it’s theirs? Opinions or suggestions are not just someone’s views or beliefs about you, they mean more than that and impact someone’s life more than you can imagine.

Since I was a child, I always had questions about how long my chin was. We even went to a doctor so that he could fix it, but then my parents and I didn’t want to get it “fixed.” After 3 years, when I started high school, some of my friends used to tell me how my chin was long and touched it as if it was an ‘ajooba’. The way people reacted; used to hurt me. But with time, I got over it and what people think about me. So, I started to love the way I looked because the best of Creators has created me. But my dear fellows, the story doesn’t end there!

As a girl, I hear a lot of “unwanted” suggestions by people on my body. Why does it even bother you, if I’ve thick eyebrows or pimples on my face? Isn’t it my face? Or, why do you think that beauty is just about having fair skin, or a slim body? Don’t you know what beauty actually means? Well, I’ll tell you, my dear friend.

Beauty is something that comes from within. It’s precisely not what you look like. If you have a beautiful face and not a beautiful soul, then it’s essentially just “congratulations on having a beautiful face!” People need to understand that it’s not just the face that makes one beautiful, it’s the character, it’s how one treats others. That’s what beauty is. We have distorted the real meaning of it.

Last but not the least, I want to tell everyone that we all are unique in our own ways and we don’t have to listen to what others say or think about others. Allah (SWT) created us and whatever He creates is nothing but perfect. I humbly request all the people who interfere with someone else’s life, please get your life together! Peace out!
