The discrimination between black and white starts the moment a child is born. The family and relatives start comparing the skin color of siblings and other children around them. However, it starts in your own family but people feel embarrassed and fearful to talk about this issue, openly. It is high time to talk about this issue that is considered a taboo in our society and which is also the root cause of many other problems.

In our society, if a boy is born having a dark complexion, it doesn’t seem to be a big issue in our society. On the other hand, if a girl is born having a dusky skin, she is considered as a symbol of bad luck for her entire future. It clearly means that her future relies on her complexion. The girl cannot achieve anything in life as she is a useless being, even more; she has encountered a large number of obstacles in her life just because of her dark complexion. Why so?

Our society has a certain mindset regarding a girl who is dark-skinned comparatively to that of a girl with a fair skin. They assume that the dark-skinned may have faced a large number of difficulties in her before getting married and as well as in her professional life. Not just that, but they also assume that a dark-skinned girl, if married, will definitely suffer after marriage.

We’re currently living in the 21st century, and it is time to modernize our beliefs according to time. However, it is heart-breaking to say that in our society, especially women with dusky skin complexion, are considered as a symbol of shame. Now, we really have to omit this perception from our society and for that, we really need to educate our society. Not just this but also give them self-grooming sessions just so they can encourage them and tell them that their real beauty is their skills and strengths. For those who are dark-skinned, work on your internal talents rather than thinking of your dark complexion, furthermore, make your dusky skin as your power.

You must have confidence in your own self and be happy in your own way. The true meaning of beauty is having a good soul, mind, and heart. To those who fear the society just because they’re dark-skinned, remember, always be thankful to Allah Almighty and take it as one of the blessings of God. You know what? The beauty of moon is nothing with darkness. Likewise, in life, don’t let your skin tone be the barrier in your path of success. Just accept yourself the way you are because you need to know that “Beauty is in dark”.
