This is something everyone would relate to. Every girl who has surpassed the age of 20 in Pakistan must have received a rishta or two. There are very fewer chances that any girl in her twenties would be spared from “aunties”. So we asked a few girls about what went wrong on their first rishta. Here are some kick-ass responses that you’d loveee to read!

1. “I was not interested in the rishta so I was on my cell the whole time. I was in severe depression and his elder sister was a psychiatrist.”

“She asked me what shows do you like and my first response was ‘Game of Thrones’ on which she was a bit shocked.”She asked me all sorts of questions and before leaving asked if I wanted to know anything about him and with a straight face I said ‘NO’ on which she got another shock. In the end, they said no by saying, ”humien koi future nazar nahi aa raha.”

2. “The very first rishta that came for me was from my taya (abu’s cousin) ka beta, that too on the very first day when I started my engineering. My mom said NO straight away”

“Because 5 saal thay parhnay mein or dusra my mom, elder brother and I were not willing to get me married in the family as my mommy also got married within her family and that was not a good experience at all lol”

3. “There was load shedding and our UPS died. We weren’t interested at all so it worked out well as they couldn’t get to see me.”

“As soon as they went, electricity came back. We took it as a sign!”

4. “I was committed somewhere else…but my dad invited them and I had to sit in front of them. I was weeping the whole time. His sister asked me about my hobbies and his mother was too old.”

“…she could not even hear clearly and the hilarious thing was that she asked me which school was I studying in  and I told her that I’m a uni student. They took my pictures without my consent and said yes! I started crying loudly in front of them.”

5. “Acha experience tha. Log bhi bohat achy thy…but unhony ye keh k mana krdiya k humne ladki ka zaicha nikala tha ye hmary haq mei behtar nae nikli.”

6. “My first rista came when I was 19 years old and the guy  was 30+! My family rejected at once because he was divorced. Plus, they wanted a doctor bahu.”

7. “I was in 1st year and they saw me at someone’s funeral. They came home with our relatives and at once my whole family rejected the guy.”

“and I was told that no one likes them and I started enjoying the scenario. I went downstairs, talked to everyone in the family, stared at the guy like hell and his mother and sister kept staring me. I didn’t bother as I was chilling with my family, and couldn’t stop laughing…”

8. “My father, casually said, “I have raised my daughter with the utmost freedom and in a very liberal manner and I expect the same from the other family.”

“and the next thing they said was ‘humari beti tou maghrib se pehle ghar ajati hai’. I was sitting right beside my mom and she whispered ‘apnay room main jao.”

9. “I’ve got a rishta come business. They said the boy will open a medical store for you using my license as I’m a pharmacist and the boy was less educated than me. So, basically it was all game of license.”
