This campaign started somewhere a week ago; where all the celebs are posting their selfies. These are not just normal selfies, these are the photos of them showing their palm where they have mehndi over their hands; which reads “Jahez Khori Band Karo”.
Every year almost 2,000 girls lose their life in Pakistan, over the dispute of dowry! This is a very serious issue to be raised. People make unbelievable demands in the name dowry and the parents of girls have to fulfill these demands for the safety of their daughter.
So, when these celebrities raised voice against this issue, people called them a hypocrite and their double standards on this were made fun of! These celebs who spent almost millions at their weddings are now against the extravagant spending on dowry.
For many people, these celebrities are not quite credible for this cause!

Jokes apart! Dowry hoarding and putting the girl and her parents under financial pressure is just not okay. It’s a marriage, not a business deal! And it’s is completely okay, if a girl’s parents aren’t buying the guy the latest car and a new home; it’s not their job! Cheers. 😉
