With the major concerns of domestic violence, abuse, and harassment we have seen many people raise voice against it. Maybe sometime before people were quite numb to the effects of this kind of abuse. How tons of people get suicidal, anxious and depressed because all they have this suffocating situation from which neither they can escape nor they can live. Like a normal living being, a healthy body needs air to breathe so it can function; similarly, a healthy mind needs some window as well.

There are thousands of women, trapped in the web of poison and forced by the situation from which they can’t escape. Because in the world like ours a woman without a man is considered to be vulnerable. So, many women choose to stay in abusive relationships and abusive homes. This woman in Punjab was actually trapped in the same situation.

The neighbor of this woman recorded a video of her feud when her husband started beating her severely in front of their kids

The woman was telling her sorry tale of how she has no one to go, no parents to stay and no siblings to support. The reason she gets treated like an animal.

After a minor fight, over an argument; where the husband asks the kids not to listen to their mother and all she could say was that if she’ll not correct them who else will.

The fight got bad and the guy started beating her with the stick, it got so worse that the stick broke!

By the looks of it and the conversation, these fights are something very normal in that very household. But what could be done? What’s the outlet for all such women? Even if this guy agreed to divorce her, where would she go, what would she do?

Maybe, we need more active help-lines for domestic violence than police/15. Not to forget we have witnessed many women losing their lives in such situations. May we stay protected!
