The culture where we live in is purely based on how a man, when he harrases a woman on the street, shouldn’t be addressed or confronted. Why? Because if he feels insulted, he would then again do his best to harm the same woman for the insult caused. Yes, this situation is not new to an average Pakistani woman or for that matter to any woman in the sub-continent. We are of course not doing much to educate either of the genders with the right education. Education where boys are taught to respect every human equally as men as women and girls are taught to stand for their own selves with or without anyone’s support.
Another example of the misogynist system of our country was recently revealed. Supermodel, Amna Babar recently shared her horrific experience of how she was caught by surprise while doing the most common of her routine.
Amna is one of the best models Pakistan has ever produced! Amna has always raised her voice for the right by using her influence
So, she was off to the mall to pick her mother when, on her way, she saw these few boys abusing her and calling her names. She did what any other girl would have done. She ignored them and continued to drive. But to her surprise, these boys followed her to the mall and when she captured them, this is what they did:
“I am very disturbed and upset after what just took place I truly wonder what kind of society we live in?
I was driving home after running some errands to pick up my mom and these boys started making obscene faces started swearing at me and kept calling me names I was alone got scared as no one even tried to help me and went to pick up my mother and took her to the mall where I saw them again I took pictures of them and one of them showed me the middle finger and called me a badmash
My mother got upset too and she took of one of her shoes these boys were then told by other people to the runway
Why do men feel the need to threaten women and girls when will this ever stop ???? Why do people just stand and watch why is this acceptable????”
But why? Why such hatred?!
People are least bothered if a guy is publically harassing a girl. Why is that not a problem? Why are these people so comfortable harassing or abusing just any woman they like? Because most people are letting them do.
The pseudo manliness is all over the place with such “bravery” by letting women down and threatening them. Good luck with that but they should know that no woman will be turned down by this anymore. They have a voice and it’s high time this voice is used and heard! Cheers. 🙂
