Like all those people who were very off from the limelight of the news, this Sunday when Imaan Mazari tweeted this; many people were baffled at what was actually happening?! She was pointing towards the “sad” mindset that people hold. But what really happened?
Umm… why was she even angry in the first place?
It is inconceivable to so many Pakistanis that a young woman has completely different opinions than her mother. Equally inconceivable to them is the fact that parents cannot control their children forever.

People are quite aware of how Imaan Mazari has been army averse. She has tweeted tons of times, where she never vouches for any decision taken by the army. Also, she has pretty conflicting thoughts with her mother, and many conflicts with the respective political party her mother represents. Sheren Mazari has faced a lot of backlash because of her daughter’s bold statement on her social media.
Well, this is what erupted the whole chaos! She didn’t like DG ISPR’s opinion.

After her tweet, Imaan shared her mother’s WhatsApp message. To which Imaan felt sorry about the fact that how her mother suffered at the hands of her thoughts on social media. Also, she said that Sheren Mazari has never controlled her, which makes her feel bad about what she faces in the certain situations.
You are again becoming an embarrassment. You really need to stop giving in to your obsessive hatred of Pakistan Army
But she didn’t feel that she should call it off since she has all the right to practice her free-speech
This erupted FIRE on twitter and Imaan deactivated her account and people were furious about it

But in reality, she stepped back to take her time to think about what happened!

It is indeed, a case of disgrace that her mother is brutally attacked for her daughter’s opinion
Ultimately, the right to freedom of expression is my fundamental human right and I will continue to exercise it. It is unfortunate that my mother is attacked over my opinions but I refuse to give into this emotional blackmailing by those who try to tear families apart. (2)

When Shireen was asked about Iman’s take on taking her twitter account down; Shireen very gracefully supported Imaan by saying that Imaan is not the one to come under any such pressure. She’s a person of her own decision.
