Earlier this year in April, Meesha Shafi shocked the internet when she posted a note saying that she has been sexually harassed by Ali Zafar. Ali who she has been working with for years by now. They have shared stage quite a few times. Meesha said that she was harassed in a private studio and in the family gatherings as well.
This revelation was shocking to many people, it moved the internet. Many find it hard to believe since Ali has always maintained his place as a family guy.

But the reason why she opened up was that she wanted to break the chain of staying silent.

And it did! When Meesha shared her experience, many others who Ali preyed on spoke against him too.

It’s back to square one as Meesha Shafi has responded to Ali Zafar’s defamation notice by giving a statement accusing Ali Zafar of sexual harrasment at multiple occasions. “Ali Zafar harassed [me] at a private studio and family functions," said Meesha Shafi. After which, Ali Zafar denied her claims saying that he’ll handle the matter legally and will not get involved in a social media war!

Meesha’s case was being handled by the renowned lawyer Ahmen Pansota and Ali’s case is being handled by Ambreen Qureshi.

Ali Zafar charged Meesha Shafi on defamation charges, but Meesha Shafi has denied all allegations of slander made by Zafar in his notice.

“Meesha’s claims are the statement of truth, therefore it was her right under the law to file a complaint against Ali Zafar, We have made it clear with our previous response that our client was harassed by Ali. So we’re sure to prove the same with evidence.” – Ahmed Pansota

“Maligning my client without any proof is disgusting. Each and everyone involved in the conspiracy will soon be answerable. Court has been calling the defendant for months now. Let evidence show how mere allegations are not always true and not each and every woman is a victim – some are there to misuse the movement. I hope Meesha’s legal team would start using their work forum, that is  courts, rather than Twitter for this case.” – Ambreen Qureshi

After the case has not seen a verdict till now people are now pointing fingers at Meesha
