I have seen a lot of people talk about different social issues and how talking about them made some kind of change in society, even if it’s really small. So, today I feel like talking about a certain thing that bothers me a lot and that is that if a guy loves someone, the society expects that he will fight for his choice. Why? Because he made a girl wait and promised to stay forever.
But if it’s the same situation for a girl then the society would never expect that she will take a stand for the guy she promised. Why? Because she’s a girl and she is supposed to listen to what her parents say and can’t make a decision for herself correctly. Whereas, men can and they should! This is totally unfair with the men in our society who stick to their words but later have to face rejection and betrayal because the girl could never go against her parent’s will and has absolutely NO GUTS to fight.
Men are expected to man up and take a stand for the girl who he is in love with but girls can’t! SO MUCH FOR FEMINISM AND EQUAL RIGHTS. HUH? I have heard tons of stories like this where the guy stayed because he promised and the girl left because she was afraid of her parents and also because society won’t let her fight. I am clearly not saying that girls should completely abide what their parents say but at least for god’s sake don’t hurt someone’s feelings if you can’t fight for what you have promised or if you can’t stick to your words.
In a society like ours where we hear every other woman talk about women empowerment and women rights, men are being completely ignored and nobody talks about how they feel or what they go through. Even though I am a girl and I support women but I support equality and equity in real terms. Not just when it’s suitable for me.
