In Pakistan, women empowerment is the supreme issue of our political leaders, religious scholars, and reformers of this society. Unfortunately, they still consider women empowerment as ‘an issue’ while during this neverending debate, Pakistani women are not sitting behind the back. They have made their own way in the society and setting an example for the newcomers. Eaman Faheem is one of them.
Eeman was just 17 years old when she started her basic apprenticeship in Avionics in 2011. She was the youngest one among her batch who worked on A310s & B777s as an Apprentice Mechanic. In 2014, she completed her apprenticeship with 83% marks. At the age of 21, she started her first job in PIA as a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Technical Services Engineering in November 2015. It’s been seven years in Aviation and Eeman is looking forward in her life.

PIA congratulated this young lady in a tweet while she was busy in changing the brake assembly harness of the aircraft. But people on Twitter, after appreciating Eeman, took the debate on every possible side!

Eeman Faheem and the list of other working women have broken the common perception of our society that women are the only beneficiaries of this particular phenomenon named as ‘women empowerment’. These women who are working in the renowned institutions of Pakistan are setting a great example for all the people out there that empowering a woman is not beneficial for herself only, it is beneficial for men, the society, community and the overall economy! More power to you girls!
