I think I can now publicly share my opinion that would sound plain bitter for this society. This rant is coming from a girl who has never been in this situation. I apologize in advance to anyone who believes in getting married early and feels offended or insulted by this article. But honestly darling I don’t give a shit.

Marriage is serious business, even though you’re floating on the wings of love, happier than you’ve ever been before, so much so find yourself smiling at completely inappropriate times.

Let’s now talk something that is really important for us to know why getting married should never be the ultimate goal for young girls.

Seeing so many girls getting married at such a young age is a bit unusual for a person like me. Being undergraduate and leaving everything behind just to marry some random guy just to fulfill your responsibility of being a good daughter, sister, and women.

If you’re getting married in your early-twenties and quitting your job/school and just becoming a housewife, excuse me while I jump out of the window. There is no reasonable explanation if any women ever want that.

There is always right time of getting married, one should wait for the right time rather than sacrificing almost everything for someone else’s happiness. Girls should have some plans for their future. Depending on your husband for everything you want is never acceptable. We have to do something for ourselves and be an example for other young girls.

The only way to change the mindset of people is to stand for yourself, prove them how talented every girl is in her own way. Tell them that the goal of our life is not to make a goal roti. The kitchen is not our place. Do something for your country, make your parents proud. Do it for yourself girls. Its time for society as a whole to re-evaluate what aspects of women’s lives we put the most value on.

You want it, go get it.
