The “no makeup” makeup look is trending these days and for all the good reasons. While putting on a full face of makeup isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, here are some tips and tricks to make your features pop with minimal makeup. Let’s get started!

Skin care is the secret behind blemish free skin. It all starts with how you’re taking care of your skin. Are you sleeping with makeup on? If you are, please STOP! This is the biggest and most common mistake girls make. Remove your makeup before you go to bed. Make it a habit, period.

2. Exfoliate:

After you’re done with cleansing, exfoliate. You can exfoliate with a store bought exfoliant or you can use chemical exfoliants which aren’t rough on the skin. The key is to scrub off the dead skin and increase cell turnover. You can only get the clear skin if you eliminate the gross dead skin. Pro tip: If you have acne scars that just won’t fade, exfoliation will be your best friend.

3. Moisturize:

Now that you’ve washed your face and exfoliated, it’s time to moisturize. Even if you have oily skin, don’t skip this step. Your skin needs to balance its pH levels so use a day time light moisturizer. Added tip: Use sunscreen if you have pigmentation i.e light and dark areas on your face with unnatural tones.

4. Skin Tint:

At this point, you have successfully embraced your natural beauty. If you feel like you have blemishes and scars you want to cover, use your favorite light weight sheer coverage tinted moisturizer, BB Cream or CC Cream. Letting a few imperfections show is nothing to be ashamed of, infact it just adds to the look because your skin is still breathing and looking put together.

5. Pluck Pluck Pluck:

If you’re someone who plucks their eyebrows, chances are you have some stray hair that needs to be tweezed out. Maintain a clean look with your eyebrows, they frame your face. Use some concealer to carve them out in the slightest and natural way possible.

6. Curl ’em:

Let’s work on the eyes now. Curl your eyelashes with some lash curlers. Many people ignore this step because they think it doesn’t work. When you curl your lashes you’re opening up your eyes and giving the illusion of a healthy face.

Pro tip: Heat your lash curler for 2 seconds with a blow dryer and then curl your lashes. The lift will last all day.

7. Blush:

Use a coral or orange undertone blush right on the apples of your cheeks. Do not drag it on the hollows of your cheekbones. Just focus on putting it on the apple and blend the edges out for a seamless finish.

8. Pucker up:

To keep things simple and natural, just apply a layer of lip gloss slight darker than your natural lip shade and voila! to keep the effect even more natural, simply use your finger to dab the gloss on your lips.

9. Make your pout extra pouty by exfoliating your lips:

You can use your tooth brush to exfoliate them as well. Rub your wet tooth brush over your lips for no more than 5 seconds. This helps to remove dry skin and make your lips look juicy. Use your favorite pink toned lip gloss or a lip balm to give your pout a natural look. Avoid using matte lipsticks because they will dry out your lips and make them incredibly crusty. That’s not a cute look.

Pro tip: Transform your entire look by simply switching your lipstick into a deeper color. This is great for last minute office parties or if you’re running late.

There you have it! A perfect, No Makeup makeup look that will suit every skin type and skin tone. This look is perfect for day time.
