Feminism is a term many in our country don’t understand and frankly, they don’t wish to educate themselves regarding the movement either. They will see what’s happening on the roads, they will see the protests women are making by stepping out of their homes, but will they ever speak in favor of it? They won’t.

Equality doesn’t revolve around getting similar pay scale or getting equal opportunities – it voices on how women deserve equal ethics, morals and every established societal norm that has oppressed the gender for centuries. But do Pakistanis understand this? Not really. And this statement can be truly deemed by the words uttered by Sanam Saeed and Aminah Sheikh.

In An Interview with HSY, Sanam Saeed First Revealed How She Believes Men and Women are NOT Equal

The host HSY repeatedly asked if Sanam believed women are not equal to men and she continued saying “no” as her answer. She then said, “aapki apni jaga, humari apni jaga.” when describing what she meant. But at the same time, in a previous interview, Sanam Saeed voiced on how she really is a feminist and she does believe men and women are equal who deserve equal rights…

Sanam Sweetie, What Are You Doing?

But then she also shared how she has a problem with men-hating, bra-burning and underarm hair growing part of “feminism” and that she believes is not a part of feminism.

She then shared how she wouldn’t call herself a feminist when previously she said it herself that she is a feminist who believes they are equal…

We Are So Confused (?????)

On the Other Hand, Aminah Sheikh (Who I Personally Adore) Shared How She Has Never Called herself a Feminist

I’ve said no all my life and suddenly it backfired on me,” said Aminah while sharing how the question of her being a feminist mind-boggles her.

Before coming on shows, how about celebrities start educating themselves on what feminism really is before they share what they believe, because Sanam Saeed, for starters, seems very confused for her personal narrative.
