Men against feminism are paranoid and self-centered. Feminism was basically NOT ABOUT MEN. Not about hating them or loving them. It’s just so hard for men to grasp the concept that there’s something in the world that does not revolve around them. It was about equality for women. That’s it. It never had anything to do with men.

The third wave of feminism is about equality for everyone. But Pakistan is still struggling with the second and in most places first wave of feminism. Pakistan is the second worst country to be a woman in. In the treatment of women, Pakistan is the 2nd worst country among 144 countries.

Almost all or most of the women agree with the words and ideas if feminism claim it’s helping them while the ‘men’ keep trying to convince them that their experiences are wrong. And what they, as men claim, is more relevant than what they as women experience throughout their lives.

In 1979, rape laws were changed to Sharia requirement of 4 male adult witnesses. Since then, there had hardly been any rape convictions. It’s not only that but also the culture of shame associated with rape reporting. Culture punishes the known raped person as if it was his/her fault.

The head of the largest religious political party, Jamat Islami, Amir (party head) Mullah Munawar Hasan is on record advising women not to report rape because of the impossibility of proof requirement of 4 male witnesses. Nearly 1,100 women were killed in Pakistan in 2015 by relatives who believed they had dishonored their families, according to BBC report 2016.

Maybe it does sound like stupidity to mostly the male community when it threatens to take away a sense of superiority off of male population. The idea of not being in charge anymore can sound stupid. Power tends to do that.
